Sylvie Besson, a former competitor in synchronised swimming events, founded the group Aquarelle in September 1993. This was her first step towards realising a dream of developing this sport in a new direction as one of the performing arts.
The group is based in Lausanne and is composed of about 20 young women, aged between 15 to 35, who come from all over the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Each one has fully mastered the techniques of synchronised swimming
Wearing costumes, hats, and sometimes carrying umbrellas, untrammelled by rules or constraints but inspired by their enthusiasm and sense of aesthetics, the 12 or even 20 Aquarelle swimmers perform choreographies that plunge the spectator into a unique and magical atmosphere.
The various displays can be easily adapted to suit different locations and water conditions. There is infinite scope for creation.
We are always on the look-out for new talent and challenges, so please don't hesitate to contact us !
